Electrical BIM Professional Program
Build and Coordinate Electrical Systems Using BIM
Duration : 2 Months
Total Hours : 60+ Hours
Mode : Offline & Online (Hybrid Option Available)
Course Overview
The Electrical BIM Professional Course is designed for electrical engineering students, graduates, and professionals who want to develop expertise in electrical system modelling and BIM coordination workflows used in modern construction projects.
This program focuses on modelling power distribution systems, lighting layouts, cable trays, conduits, and low-voltage systems using industry-standard BIM tools.
Students learn how electrical systems integrate with architectural, structural, and other MEP disciplines, enabling accurate coordination and construction-ready documentation within BIM environments.
Course Highlights:
Electrical BIM Modelling Tools & Workflows
Develop detailed electrical BIM models, including power distribution systems, lighting layouts, containment systems, and electrical equipment, while gaining hands-on experience with industry tools, including Autodesk Revit Electrical, Navisworks Manage, and Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) used in professional BIM coordination environments.
Electrical System Modelling in BIM
Learn how electrical systems such as lighting, power distribution, cable trays, conduits, and panel boards are structured and developed within coordinated BIM models.
BIM Coordination & Clash Detection
Understand how electrical models are coordinated with architectural, structural, HVAC, and plumbing systems through model federation and clash detection workflows.
Construction Documentation & Quantification
Generate electrical drawings, panel schedules, wiring layouts, and quantity take-offs directly from BIM models used in real construction projects.
International Project Workflow Exposure
Work on real project simulations aligned with international BIM workflows, helping students understand how electrical BIM models evolve from design inputs to coordinated project deliverables.
Electrical System Training
Students gain practical experience modelling electrical systems used in real construction projects. Key training areas include:
Electrical project setup and BIM fundamentals
Lighting system modelling and circuiting workflows
Power distribution systems and equipment placement
Panel board configuration and panel schedules
Cable tray and conduit routing
Wiring layouts and containment systems
Electrical quantity takeoffs and schedules
Students also learn to prepare coordinated electrical documentation and shop drawings used during project execution.
Industry-Based BIM Project Training
Students work on international BIM project simulations reflecting real electrical modelling workflows.
Project 1 — Residential Building (US-Based)
Develop electrical BIM models up to LOD 300, including lighting layouts, power systems, and panel schedules.
Project 2 — Commercial Building (UAE-Based)
Advance the electrical model to LOD 350, focusing on detailed system modelling, containment layouts, and coordinated BIM documentation.
These projects help students understand how electrical BIM models evolve from design inputs to coordinated construction deliverables.
BIM Coordination & Collaboration Workflows
Students gain exposure to professional BIM coordination processes used in multidisciplinary construction projects. Topics include:
Linking architectural and structural BIM models
Preparing federated coordination models
Clash detection using Navisworks Manage
Model review and issue tracking workflows
Cloud collaboration using Autodesk Construction Cloud
Career Opportunities After the Course
Graduates of this program can pursue roles such as:
Electrical BIM Modeler
Revit Electrical Modeler
Electrical BIM Engineer
MEP BIM Modeler (Electrical)
BIM Coordination Engineer
Electrical BIM professionals are increasingly required in international infrastructure and building projects where BIM is the standard workflow for design and construction coordination.
